can anyone tell me wat ports are used when running GW? and if possible anyway to get around my college's firewall blocking those particular ports?

No idea of the ports but as far as i know even if you had the ports you`d have to have access to the router/firewall and open them manually which i doubt you`ll be able to do.
Guessing the college only has port 80 open which is general web access ( i think ) and maybe port 21 (ftp) .

If you have some bucks, you might consider a mobile card.

For the record, the TCP ports GW uses are 6112 and 80.

TCP: 6112 and port 83 Outbound connections. That's what Outpost says.
